Tijanna O. Eaton (Tə-zha-na; she/her) has been a part of the Unicorn Authors Club since its inception. During her time as a member, she completed a revised draft of her book—BOLT Cutters, the story of her twelve arrests in three years in the early 90s during the height of the crack epidemic—that secured her a literary agent. As part of Team Unicorn, Tijanna is a Sanctuary Coach and Coordinator of the Bolt Cutters Cohort. She is the 2021 Unicorn Authors Club Alumni award recepient, a 2023 Rooted & Written Fellow, the 2024 Best of the Net nonfiction judge, and a 2024 Soros Justice Fellow.
Tijanna has served on the Five Keys Schools and Programs board of directors since 2006 and became Board Chair in 2021, has served on the QWOCMAP (Queer Women of Color Media Arts Project) board from 2016 to 2018, and was the IMsL (International Ms. Leather) POC liaison from 2015 to 2017. She has been published in Honey Literary, Noyo Review, Panorama Journal, and Yellow Arrow Vignette. Tijanna is a Black poly kinkster queerdo pocket butch with a high school diploma and a rap sheet. Short, rough, and bossy, she likes to play bass, write essays, chew gum, hit the dungeon, and smoke cigarettes. And yes, she is a Pushcart Prize nominated author.
